Taking Over The Road For You, Holden Headlights

Most say that the VE Holden Commodore is hands down the greatest looking of the Commodores always.
The VE Holden's distinctive build contributes to a demanding and assertive appeal, and it was specifically manufactured so that the car comes across as greater in size than earlier models.

Its slanted front also looks intense, and the general evenness of the profile makes the car look almost like a coupe. Holden's creators and engineers started laying down the essentials of the VE Commodore sedan in 1999.

In the seven years of planning, the VE Commodore has become to be Holden's stupendous and most costly project, representing an expenditure exceeding 1 billion and 3.4 million kilometres (2.1 million miles) of testing.

VE
It was in 1999 that Peter Hughes, also known as Holden's exterior design manager, drafted a two-dimensional drawing of the VE that had been drafted before by Michael Simcoe who was Holden's design director at that time.
Known internally as the "Bill of Design," the drawing composed the design base for the production-ready car. Many articles of the drawing were were modified, such as involving the rear VE commodore lights, the lower-profile side window cluster and the lengthened wheelbase, but the bold stance stayed.
The VE lights were fashioned in a fancy way that had not been ever witnessed before on other previous models. The company made a determination to convert the tail lights to a box-like form, entirely diverse from the VZ's triangular shape. As with other earlier Commodore cars, tail lights were altered to an absolutely innovative style. The VE headlights had its earliest design for usual models, however, the luxury models were upgraded with lavish inclusions.

One example is the VE Omega, for it opted for red ring-shaped lights but with reverse and indicator lamps that were transparent in color and not red.

Other changes were the Calais and Berlina cars decoratively had tri-stripes on them.

The SSV variant had an extreme makeover by having a sportier looking VE lights. On the SSV variant, the VE lights added black reflectors and Chrome bezel was added to its red centre lamp and the crystal clear reverse and indicator lamps.
The SSV tail lights were a real take off, for all asked for them to be added to their VE Commodores.

The Holden Special Vehicles produced Commodores went further and had totally redesigned tail light style that required distinctive sheet metal.

This was an obvious victory for HSV for they had commonly just adjusted Commodores, whereas this time they were placing newer sheet metal to the car. The HSV changed the VE lights by designing them to be rectangular and wrapping around the rear of these cars.

The lamps themselves featured two round LED lights that were reminiscent of the well-known Nissan Skyline. The HSV tail lights cannot be fitted to regular Commodore makes. The redesigning of the VE lights added to the headlights.

Again, the more luxurious models were given extra options for their VE lights. The base models were constructed with incomplex black reflector headlights, whereas the more luxurious makes of the VE Commodore, such as the SSV, featured a glamorous projector lamp in the centre that counterbalanced the more commanding design of the VE Commodore.

Ultimate
To this day, the VE commodore lights are a well desired attraction to the VE Commodore.
